'Knowing the Landscape' is the second episode of the Desire Lines podcasts, a series of audio collages based on Crow Park in Keswick. These podcasts share research from Desire Lines, an art project led by artist Rebecca Beinart that engages with communities around Crow Park, hosted by the National Trust. The project explores the connections humans have with the natural world, and how a relationship with a local green space can open up global questions - including conservation, climate change, ecology and access.
Part two explores different ways of knowing and understanding the landscape. We’ll hear about industrial history, intelligent sheep, what plant can tell us, soil compaction, and walking as a way of knowing the fells. In this episode you’ll hear from Maurice, Joe, Roy, Penny, Gillian, Dave and pupils from St Herbert’s Primary School.
